TORONTO - Today on Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day, the Estonian Central Council in Canada remembers all those who have lost their lives and loved ones to tyranny, fascism, and totalitarianism everywhere - especially the six million Jews murdered in the Holocaust.

The XII Global Estonian Cultural Festival, ESTO, will be held in Helsinki, Tartu and Tallinn from June 27 – July 3, 2019. The largest ever worldwide gathering of Estonians, ESTO 2019 aims to bring together Estonians and estophiles from around the world, establishing new international connections and reinforcing the bonds of our shared heritage and culture by celebrating our global Estonian identity together.

GLOBAL ESTONIAN ELECTION TOWN HALL FEBRUARY 10, 2019

TORONTO - The Estonian Central Council in Canada is pleased to announce that it is hosting a Town Hall Election Discussion on issues addressing the global Estonian diaspora communities, with representatives from all major Estonian political parties.

This is the first time an international Estonian election discussion is being held specifically on global Estonian issues.

The first Estonian elected to the House of Commons, the Hon. Peter Van Loan, is retiring as a Member of Parliament today. The Estonian Central Council in Canada (EKN) congratulates Peter on his accomplished parliamentary career representing York-Simcoe over the past fourteen years. Already an EKN Gold Medal of Merit recipient, we sincerely thank him for all he has done for the Estonian community in Canada. Our community is losing an important supporter in Ottawa.
